The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) urged the Executive to speed up the formalities that must be handled by the private company before the Public Administration. In a statement, the president of the CCIAP, Inocencio Galindo de Obarrio, said that the delay and bureaucracy in government entities is repeated every five years prior to the General Elections.

"Bureaucracy is the most negative element to do business in Panama, according to Doing Business surveys conducted among businesspeople in 2017 by the World Bank," reads the CCIAP text.

The statement also explains that, "in the Government Strategic Plan for the period 2014-2019, ambitious goals were set to put at least 450 online formalities before the end of the period, of which 119 have been completed". They believe that these goals should be streamlined and converted into a State policy to boost more investment.
