The Attorney General of Panama, Kenia Porcell, said that it is very important for the Public Prosecutor's Office to reach an agreement with Odebrecht to obtain information on the at least 59 million dollars paid in fines by the Brazilian construction company in the country.
The attorney general indicated that the construction company has announced that it wants to collaborate and is also interested in achieving a settlement.
"Panama also wants to reach an agreement that is satisfactory to the interests of the country and that would enable us to obtain very promptly important information for the investigations we carry," said Porcell.
He assured that this information would facilitate that many Panamanians "declare before justice".
Odebrecht verbally pledged in December to pay $ 59 million to the Panamanian state. Although, no agreement has yet been signed, revealed the attorney general.
