The various security agencies that make up the Joint Task Force (FTC), reported that so far no death tolls were reported in Carnival 2018 in Panama, according to a statement released in recent hours by the National Security System of Civil Protection (SINAPROC).

The operation was conducted by the Transit and Land Transport Authority, the National Civil Protection System, the National Aircraft Service, and the National Police.

The authorities reported that more than 1 million people left the capital to enjoy carnival. Some 76,668 vehicles have returned, out of the more than 143,000 that moved to the interior of the country.

47 lives were saved by the FTC in rescue efforts of beaches, boats and assistance during the 4 days of the carnival celebration.

Despite the heavy swell and rip current, which caused the raise of the yellow flag, SINAPROC reported that more than 166,000 people visited the 41 beaches and 9 rivers guarded by the authorities.

Through the Citizen Call Center 104, a total of 8,005 calls were received, 6,930 were answered and 1,075 events were reported, highlighting suspicious attitude (66), disturbance of the peace (51), fights and scandal (39), traffic accidents (26) and domestic violence (24), according to statement 008.
