Panama's Foreign Ministry said Thursday it is "analyzing" whether it will extradite former mexican government Roberto Borge, who is being sought by the country's justice system for corruption.
"It's in his process and in process of permanent analysis. It's being analyzed, " said Chancellor Isabel De Saint Malo when asked if her office had decided on Borge's extradition.
The Mexican former governor was arrested on June 4 in Panama while trying to take a flight to Paris.
In Mexico he faces charges of embezzlement, irregular performance of the public function and illicit use of power and is being held in the El Ranecer jail, on the banks of the Panama Canal..
