Like every other November 13, Panama celebrates the Day of the Journalist that, according to the president of the National Association of Journalists (Conape), Blanca Gómez, should be a moment for the professionals practicing the profession to reflect on what they want and where do they want to go.
“We have to continue working and continue to be the light for this society,” the journalist said in the framework of the Thanksgiving Mass at the Santa Ana church, organized by the Board of Directors of the Journalists Union of Panama (SPP) and the Conape.
Gomez explained that Panamanian society “has seen the light thanks to the contributions of journalism, which has covered important events throughout history, in addition to revealing aspects involved in the corruption plots such as those that have been made public in the country”.
Different personalities have congratulated the journalists on their day, among them the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela.
