PANAMA CITY.- The president of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, on Saturday sent his "condolences and solidarity" to the people and government of Peru in the face of the tragedy caused by the rains, which have left in that country dead and affected.

Varela expressed this through a message in his Twitter account, while the Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "so far have not registered Panamanians affected by the consequences of the rains" in Peru and that maintains communication on this matter With its embassy in that country.

"The authorities and the Panamanian people express their solidarity with the Peruvian brothers and express their wishes for the fortress to accompany them in these tragic moments of mourning and pain," added the Foreign Ministry.
