"There is no tsunami threat” after earthquake in Costa Rica

General Director of Panama’s National System of Civil Protection (Sinaproc) José Donderis assured that "there is no tsunami threat" after the magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Costa Rica.
 
The earthquake, which had several aftershocks during night hours, only caused minor material damage. However, the earthquake was felt with great intensity in areas such as Baru, Bugaba, David and Bocas del Toro.
 
Sinaproc, through the National Tsunami Monitoring System, assured that no incidents are yet reported and urged to "remain calm". Donderis also called not to be on the beach.
