The manager of the Uber platform, Thelma Britton, assured that users are the most affected after enforcing Decree 331, which regulates electronic transport platforms. Also, the spokeswoman added that the company perceives that the decree does not protect users, or the driving partners.
One of the first consequences of the decree is the increase in travel fees. Britton explained that the platform calculates the price based on the number of people requesting the service and the number of drivers available; having fewer drivers, but the same number of users, the price increased. The waiting time has also been affected.
Uber had about 8,000 driving partners in 2017. After the regulations, it only has a little more than 2,000, equivalent to 29%. Britton said, in an interview for TVN News, that these consequences were warned.
