At a press conference, Luis Carlos Diaz, in charge of the operations management of the Metro, said that upon entering one of the two lines, the user must validate his card where the fee corresponding to the line where he is entering will be charged, remembering that Line 2 will be free until May 12.
Regarding the modifications made to the payment, he explained that the cards should not be used for group travel. "If the exit is validated more than once for more than one user, the first transaction within the same line will have a charge of zero, and the others the value of the tariff of the line, so each user must carry a card, "he said.
Díaz added that: "The validation card in the Panama Metro is for personal use. We do not recommend to users that practice if someone asks me to borrow the card for the exit, because then the system will charge the exit when one tries to leave ".
The Panama Metro reported that this charge also applies if a user travels with his family, they recommend that each one carry their card to validate the entrance and exit (after four years of age must be paid), otherwise If you use a single card to pay several trips, the system will charge you again when you leave the station.
In addition, he said that if it is validated with a different card than the one used to enter, the line rate will also be charged again.
