Elections in Panama advance without major inconveniences

In the voting centers, officials of the Electoral Tribunal, Justice and Peace, the Ombudsman's Office and observers guarantee the electoral process.

A total of 861 officials will be elected, divided into president, 71 deputies to the National Assembly, 20 deputies to the Central American Parliament, 81 mayors, 679 corregimiento representatives and 9 councilors, with their respective deputies.

The districts with the most electoral population are Panama, with 663,067, followed by San Miguelito with 243,978 and Arraiján with 172,102 voters.

In these elections, of the 2.75 million voters, 18.9 percent are young people between 18 and 25 years old and 17.8 percent between 41 and 50 years old, 14.3 percent between 51 and 60 years old. and 11 percent are in the range of 26 to 30 years, so it is expected that youth have a significant weight in the renewal of authorities.

In addition, of the total of voters, 50.22 percent are women; 51.65 percent are affiliated with one of the seven legally constituted political parties.
