The Panamanian Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Jesús Sierra, presented his "irrevocable" resignation to the post, which he will leave on October 15, according to a letter dated October 3 and released today by the local media.

Sierra's letter is addressed to the vice president and chancellor of Panama, Isabel De Saint Malo, whom he thanked, as well as the president of the country, Juan Carlos Varela, for the "opportunity" they gave him to perform the position of representative before the OAS.

In the letter, of five paragraphs, Sierra does not indicate the reasons for his resignation from office, which he assumed on September 1, 2015.

Sierra served as administrator of the Panamanian Tourism Authority (ATP) when he became ambassador to the hemispheric body.
