The agenda of events pervades Panama with the best music from January 14 to 19 at the City of Knowledge. The Panama Jazz Festival brings a new edition with several scheduled concerts and an energetic billboard that includes: the Blake family with Alex Jr. and Russel Blake and his group Sons of Panama, the Canadian saxophonist with his Cuba group Jane Bunnett & Maqueque, the North American trombonist Andrew Hayward, Swedish trombonist Gunhild Carlin, Israeli guitarist Rotem Shivan, Colombian singer Lucia Pulido and her group Corazonantes and Danilo Perez's Global Messengers debut in a new project of artists from Palestine, Greece, Jordan, the United States and Panama, premiering a new musical composition commissioned by the Mayor of Panama to honor the 500 years of the city of Panama.

National musicians that stand out in this edition include the group of Roberto Delgado & Orchestra, Afrodisiaco, Idania Downman & The Emotions, Omar Diaz and his group Dede, Luz Acosta Ensemble, The Blues Dogs, Santos Diablos, Calabar, Jose Luis Medina, King Cruz Salsa Quintet, Panama Jazz All-Stars, the Panamanian Shuruka Folklore Group, and the Danilo Perez Foundation Ensembles.

For this January 5, Amador Theater arrives with a different theme and place. An out sea musical trip where the sounds of the waves will join the talent of the Dj's: Yokoo, Athar & Marin. This trio will ensure a magical evening from beginning to end. The appointment is at 10:00 pm and the out sea departure is at 12:30 am.

On the 5th, 6th and 10th of January, the Youth Musical Camp students will offer a series of concerts in different locations, and they will demonstrate the skills learned. There will be special guests, including the directors: Dr. Nell Flanders (Oberlin USA), Prof. Mario Rodriguez (Costa Rica) and Prof. Jorge Oliva (Panama). Students from the Conservatory of Oberlin (Ohio USA) and musicians from Costa Rica and Panama will also participate.

On Thursday, January 10 at 8:00 pm Hooch Panama will open 2019 with a mega tribute to one of the most important Argentinian bands, nothing less than Enanitos Verdes. The audience will relive their best hits, hits of the likes of "My First Day Without You", "Go Pascual", "Same as Yesterday", "Eternal Loneliness", "I Saw You In A Train", "Bolivian Lament ", "the long hair stranger "and many more, played by Juanra Ortíz in the leading voice of a super band.
