The General Assembly of the United Nations established December 5 as the date to recognize the effort of volunteers who spend part of their time contributing positively in society, in several aspects. Panama has joined this initiative. The non-governmental organizations and companies that are part of the Social Responsibility in the Isthmus met for the sixth consecutive year.
During the meeting promoted by the “Ponte en Algo” program, the result of the National Volunteer Survey of 2017 was announced. According to this study, Panama is one of the countries in Latin America with the greatest participation in this kind of activity. 21% of the population made some voluntary contributions last year. The rate in the region is between 12% and 22%.
