After a week, the 15th edition of the Panama Jazz Festival ended. The event combines music, culture and teaching. The City of Knowledge, in the Panamanian capital, hosted the best music exponents such as: Yogev Shetrit Trío, New England Conservatory, PanAfrican Jazz Project, Thelonious Monk Institute, Berklee Global Jazz Institute, Panamonk Trío, Calipso Collective and La Kshamba, that will delight those present during the final concert.
The closing day of the Panama Jazz Festival was also the venue for awarding grants to more than a dozen young people who will travel to the best institutes of musical studies in the United States to continue their artistic education.
The cultural ambassador and artistic director of the Festival, Danilo Pérez, highlighted how important music is to face the country's social problems; "jazzing Panama" is a vehicle for progress.
Clinics, symposiums, workshops, auditions and concerts were part of the schedule that for a week filled Panama’s city of culture and exchange.
