The deputy to the National Assembly, Zulay Rodríguez, reported that she has received economic offers to avoid her aspirations to the presidential chair in 2019, although she clarified that she will not drop out and will continue with her decision.
“Since I decided to be a candidate, in a very private way, they offered me to run city hall and that they would get me money, and I told them that no businessman has three or five million dollars , and if they are offering that amount, it comes from the Government,” affirmed the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) member in an interview with Panama America.
Although she did not reveal any names, the deputy garanteed that she has been offered up to five million dollars with the intention of putting pressure on her ending her aspiration to the Panamanian presidency.
“I have won every internal election by the bases and knocking on doors, because I am the only middle class candidate, I am not rich, or a millionaire,” the parliamentarian said.
