Ventura Ceballos, who escaped in a Panamanian prison in 2016 and is charged with five homicides, arrived in Panama after being deported by Costa Rican authorities, who arrested him this Friday. At the time of his detention, he was seized false documents under the name of Carlos Alberto Aguirre Valencia.
Ceballos arrived at the Albrook Airport, in the capital, with shackles in his hands and feet, in a plane of the Panama’s National Air Service (Senan), and will remain in a maximum security cell, in a place not specified by the authorities.
"Because of security reasons, the director of the PN, Omar Pinzón, was responsible for taking him to a very safe prison ... and we know he will not escape," said Bethancourt.
With the arrest of the Dominican, for whom there was a reward of $ 50,000 in Panama, a lawsuit against him will be reactivated for the crimes of kidnapping and murder of five Asian youths, as well as another for evasion
Ceballos was detained in the Dominican Republic and deported to Panama in 2011, but on December 28, 2016 he escaped from La Joyita prison outside the Panamanian capital where he was serving pre-trial detention for the murder of five Panamanian youth of Asian descent between 2010 and 2011.
