Last Sunday, March 11, the V National Extraordinary Congress of the PRD party was held in Panama city, where there were changes to the statutes for the electoral reforms, after voting 2.700 delegates present during the congress. During the event, Zulay Rodríguez, one of the party congresswoman denounced against the political government.
Deputy of the Democratic Revolutionary Party Zulay Rodríguez Lu considers that the statements released by Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela, on "reinforcing authority" over a group of parliamentarians is an allusion to the role he has played in the National Assembly, "The President does not refer to a small group, I am almost sure that he refers to me because Brother Popy (José Luis Varela) says that I am the one who disturb the Assembly. I do not disturb, I stand in the seat, I tell the truth, I fight corruption and I highlight that things must be done correctly. I already have been threatened by the Executive, by the Security Council, there are threats of expulsion (within the party) where 185 signatures are collected from the Directorate, which I am sure the delegates of my party do not agree with," said Rodríguez.
"I have been claiming for three years and they do not know how to silence me and that is why I am threatened with expulsion", said the MP who during her speech at the 5th National Congress of the PRD added, "I do not agree with the negotiations and agreements that for three years they have had with the Panameñista party. I do not agree that they have sold the party, the bases, the membership and 4 million Panamanians with laws that have harmed our entire membership."
