Belgium secures third place in the World Cup

With goals scored by Thomas Meunier and Eden Hazard, the Belgium team bit England 2-0 and secured third place in the 2018 Russia World Cup.

The victory was a prize to a great tournament played by the Belgian national team, which only saw itself weaken against Japan in the round of 16.

The Belgians took control from the opening whistle and in just 4 minutes, Thomas Meunier received the ball and shot past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

England showed little interest in the consolation prize, aligning as substitutes Phil Jones, Eric Dier, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fabian Delph and Danny Rose.

Eden Hazard was the star of the match, opening the spaces, putting the rival to the sword, acting as a brain for a Belgian team that was going for more. And he received his award in the 81st minute, when in a combination with Kevin De Bruyne - one of many in the match - he would score definitive numbers on the match.

Belgium had already warned that it was going to look for the match because it would be its highest historical representation in a World Cup ...! And it fulfilled it!
