The coach of the national soccer team of Panama, Colombian Hernán Darío "Bolillo" Gómez, will play his 231 game against national teams in the match between Panama and Northern Ireland, next May 29, the Panamanian Federation of Soccer (Fepafut) announced today.

"Gómez will be left alone in the fifth position of the coaches with more matches on the bench, once the initial whistle of the game against the Northern Ireland on May 29 is heard," the statement said.

Gómez, who previously led the national teams of Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala, is tied in the fifth box of the coaches with more games led at the national team level with the German Berti Vogts (230), who led the national teams of Germany, Nigeria, Kuwait, Scotland and Azerbaijan.

The Colombian coach took the reins of the Panamanian team on May 31, 2014, when the Central American team faced Serbia, in a match that was played in Chicago, United States, and ended with a goal equalizer.
