The interim head coach of the Panama soccer selection, Gary Stempel, has announced the list of 25 summoned players for the training of the forthcoming friendly match between the Red one against the United States the 27 of January of the next year.
The preselection is constituted exclusively by players who participate in the national tournament, because the match will not be on a FIFA date, so the teams are not obliged to borrow their players.
The cited players are the goalkeepers Jaime De Gracia, Marcos Allen and Eddie Roberts; the defenders Francisco Palacios, Ivan Anderson, Jiovany Ramos, Jean Carlos Vargas, Jose Garibaldi, Chin Hormechea, Guillermo Benitez and Kevin Galvan.
There are also the midfielders Edson Sams, Marlon Avila, Luis Cañate, Carlos Harvey, Ernesto Walker, Alexander Gonzalez, Angel Orelien, Omar Browne, Adalberto Carrasquilla and Leslie Heráldez; as well as the strikers Ernesto Sinclair, Enrico Small, Sergio Moreno and Jorge Grant.
The teams that contribute the most to the preselection are Plaza Amador, Tauro FC and Deportivo Arabe Unido, each one with five players.
New names begin to appear for the new head coach
While Gary Stempel concentrates on the friendly against the United States, names of candidates to lead the senior team begin to reveal themselves.
One of those candidates who will be interviewed by the Search Commission of the Panamanian Soccer Federation is the Colombian Eduardo Lara, who has already gone through this process in the last World Cup in which Hernan Dario "Bolillo" Gomez was chosen.
The 59-year-old coach comes from El Salvador's senior team, which he disassociated himself at the beginning of this year due to financial problems of the Salvadoran Soccer Federation.
Another name that sounds strong is the Panamanian Julio Dely Valdez, who has not hidden his desire to return to the bench of the national team in this cycle, which must face the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
