Panama includes several candidates in CONCACAF awards

CONCACAF announced the list of candidates for the annual awards that recognize the work of those who are involved in soccer in Central and North America, and Panama has managed to include several of its figures.

Among the great Panamanian candidates, is Yenith Bailey, who opts for the best goalkeeper and Player of the Year awards. For this, she relies on her extraordinary performance in the Women's World Cup qualifiers.

Also in the female branch are Marta Cox and Lineth Cedeño who hope to enter the ideal team as midfielder and forward, respectively; as well as the coach of the national team, the Argentine Víctor Suárez, who competes for the Best coach of the Year award.

In the men's section, forward Blas Pérez is nominated for Best Goal of the Year for the goal scored with Deportivo Árabe Unido against El Salvador's FAS in the CONCACAF League.

Another one that appears in the list is the collegiate John Pitti, who participates for Best Referee of the Year for his consistency and equanimity.

In the sixth edition of the awards both male and female players will be chosen in these categories: Player, Soccer Coach, Goalkeeper, of the year, Soccer Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper, Referee and Goal of the Year and Ideal Team in Male and Female will be chosen.

Fans can also participate in the selection of the best of the season, entering the page www.concacaf.com and casting their vote until Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
