The Panamanian team will hold a closing party to celebrate its participation and the promotion of its main tourist destinations in the World Cup, at the Mordovia Arena stadium in Saransk, said today the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP).
The show that will feature a set of lights and folk music of the Central American country will be held when the Panama vs. Tunisia match, scheduled for Thursday at 1:00 pm local time (18:00 GMT) Panama time, takes place.
In the promotional spaces, the ATP will make World Cup-related games, give presents and exhibit videos featuring emblematic tourist sites of each province, as well as places in the capital such as the Canal, the Museum of Biodiversity, Old Panama, the Old Town, indigenous peoples, islands, beaches, among others.
"The devotion and joy of the Panamanian fans have been so great because they could see and support their country in their debut in the World Cup, and without that passion the effort undertaken by the ATP to promote Panama in the pavilions placed on the outside of stadiums would have not gained momentum," said ATP minister Gustavo Him.
The administrator described as a success the visit of thousands of fans from all over the world to the stands, first at the Fan Fest in Saransk and then at the Fisht stadiums in Sochi and Nizhny Novgorod, where the national team had matches, first against Belgium and then against England.
Him said that each Panamanian is the best promoter of the country abroad and thanked the National Soccer Team for making the dream come true of taking Panama to its first World Cup, which has been the best showcase to promote the country's tourism products.
The tourist agency highlighted that the Panamanian fans, known as Marea Roja, transcended borders last Sunday when the player Felipe Baloy scored the first goal of Panama in a World Cup.
According to Him, since the launch of the new advertising pieces of the international promotion campaign in digital media, the videos have achieved 6.2 million views, due to Google searches related to the National Soccer Team of Panama.
Saransk, a town located 600 kilometers far from Moscow and one of the 11 venues selected by FIFA, is the city that will receive the Panamanian team in their last match.
