Panamanian boxing “in the ring” for Central American Gold

Panama has managed to put three boxers to fight for the gold medal at the XI Central American Games in Managua 2017, after the second qualifying session held on Thursday.

Panamanian Luis Hernandez, who beat the Mexican Osmar Bravo by a split decision on Thursday, will face Guatemalan José Virula for the gold, who also won by split decision against Costa Rican José Moya, in the category of 81 kilos.

Panamanian Carlos Moreno and Nicaraguan Dirk Wells will dispute the gold medal in the category of more than 91 kilos.

Panamanian boxing will also have a finalist in the female category when Yuliana Torres competes for the gold medal against Nicaraguan Elki Chacón in the division of 54-57 kilos.
