Panamanian Yenith Bailey stood out at the annual Concacaf awards ceremony, despite not feting the 2018 goalkeeper.

The award went to the American Alyssa Naeher, of the Chicago Red Stars, while the Panamanian, who plays for San Miguelito, finished in second place in the voting, ahead of Canada's Stephanie Labbe, of Linköpings FC of Swedish football.

The Panamanian goalkeeper was among the favorite ones after having shone at the pre-world cup, in which the national team close to make history with an unprecedented classification to the competition, thanks to Bailey's saves.

The winners of the prizes were chosen in three ways: the fans voting, the sports press, the captains, and technicians of the national teams.

For the rest of the awards, the best female player of the year was the American Alex Morgan, from Orlando Pride; the best male player of 2018 was the Mexican Hirving Lozano, of PSV Eindhoven of Holland, while the Costa Rican Keylor Navas of Real Madrid, was named the best male goalkeeper.
